Working with a family run company which has a number of online brands selling ferry tickets from all around the world, this is a customer focused position requiring excellent customer service skills. Our client is linked to about 85 different ferry operators offering over 1,500 ferry routes. Where possible, bookings are made online by customers, however over 30% subsequently amend or cancel their booking and we need team members to answer emails and respond to messages. Some outbound calls are necessary to particular ferry operators to check availability, etc. On occasions you may have to contact customers to deal with cancellations of routes due to bad weather, technical issues, etc.

Customer Service Staff

Fluent in both written and spoken English

Fluency (both written and spoken) in Dutch

Articulate with good grammar for answering emails and responding to messages

Transport is essential due to the location of the premises - there is no public transport nearby

Excellent telephone manner

Ability to multi task

Good PC skills

Some experience in a customer service role (not necessarily on the telephone) would be useful

Ability to prioritise tasks

Work on own initiative


Salary – up to £18,000 (dependent on skills and experience) – pro-rata for part-time hours

Contract – likely to be an initial Fixed Term contract for 3 months with a view to a permanent position – we may be able to offer permanent straight away it will depend on skills/languages

Hours – we are open 0800 to 2200 Monday to Sunday – shifts will be between these hours – we operate 365 days a year and bank holidays are classed as normal working days

Cover at weekends is operated on a rota basis, however we currently require more staff to work at weekends and the shift pattern will include working 1 day every weekend – either a Saturday or a Sunday on 3 weekends out of 4.
